An aside...
Over the past three days I have been drawing continuously - as part of a workshop run by Bill Prosser. It has been exciting and exhausting in equal measure!
It doesn't have any particular relevance to this blog, but there must be some similarities in approach or outcome, and if not, never mind...
Here are some images from the last two days in no particular order - some of them were two minute poses, some slightly more...
I drew this figure entirely with the word 'taste' - an exercise to respond to a particular word - trying to key into my handwriting as a drawing style by concentrating on text and using it to create shadows and lines - I rather liked this outcome. I think the word association worked for me on a couple of levels - it allowed me to work more expressively and more subjectively.
This exercise of folding the paper and placing the figure into the different sections was another way of formalising the drawing - however, instead of keeping the figure within the confined area, I made it break the boundary, then placed another figure very close, then overlapped the figures - progressively more related and entwined - some interesting relationships occurred - I don't think they show particularly well in this photo however. I'll try some close-ups...

I'm not sure what is happening with the positioning of the photos - they appear fine on my browser - are you using a mac, I suspect it may be a mac thing?
I find it very difficult to position images at all - no matter how I try to space them they seem to appear randomly!

Yes, I also believe it is worth mentioning this experience and showing the drawings that were produced. They left a trace in all of us! I particularly like the one were Sarah has words written all over her body and the one of two figures touching/reaching each other.
There are some really good drawings here. Looks like you got a lot out of the Masterclass at the weekend. Sunil
