An investigation into the use of light in art from stained glass windows to fluorescent tubes

Tracing my visual language through different cultures and times.

As part of my Masters in Drawing As Process at Kingston University, I am looking at an aspect of my own work and relating it to the work of others both in this country and globally, and through different eras.

It is my hope that this blog will be a place to reflect on my own practice and to invite others to comment and offer their ideas.

Here, as a start point, I am placing some recent drawings which are abstract responses to the subject of TRACE - leaving one's mark or impression either physically or in the memory of those around us. More thoughts on this subject can be seen at http://trace-element.blogspot.com.

I enjoyed getting lost in your drawing by following the lines.
I wonder if you have looked at Paul Klee's The Intelligent Eye book...contains wonderful experiments with line. I used it as abasis for some of my wonderings into monoprints.
